Hearing Problems are a very common side effect of traumatic brain injuries as there is a direct link between the central nervous system in the human body and the inner part of the ear. After suffering from a brain injury, there are many causes due to which hearing problems can occur. A hearing problem can occur when the inner ear or the temporal lobe are injured during a brain injury.

Sleep Disorders are among the most observed side effects in a person after a traumatic brain injury. A large percentage of TBI patients have expressed that they are experiencing a change in their sleeping pattern after the head injury. The usual problems of sleep disorders that arise in TBI patients are sleeplessness, difficulty while sleeping, sleeping for longer hours than usual and sleeping at odd times in the day.

Traumatic brain injury has many cognitive side effects on the patient like inattentiveness, excessive sleeping, depression, irritation, lack of judgment and slow rate of thinking. Memory loss is another cognitive side effect of head injury that is very common in TBI patients. The intensity of memory loss is based on the severity of the traumatic brain injury.

After a traumatic brain injury, the victim can suffer from problems related to the vision and equilibrium. When a person receives a severe blow on the head, chances are high that the vision is impaired or lost. It can also result in a loss of equilibrium of the vision system. Post Trauma Vision Syndrome (PTVS) is a common vision defect in TBI patients.
